what to do if there’s a flood

Flooding can cause costly damage, which is why it’s important that you act quickly.

  1. Turn off the water source, eg washing machine, dishwasher or tap.

  2. Prevent water leaking to other apartments/shops by mopping up as much as you can

  3. If appropriate turn the water supply to your apartment off. Note: some of the hot water cylinders are accessed via the corridor

  4. Ring the Body Corporate Facilities Manager on 027-284 4830 immediately

  5. If you rent you also need to contact the owner/property manager so that they can attend.

The windows are part of the unit/apartment title and not the common area, which means the owner is responsible for repairing damage. Owners must attend to repairs as soon as possible so that the weathertightness of the building is not compromised.

If you rent you should contact your landlord or property manager.

Whether it’s noise or annoying behaviours we encourage you first and foremost to talk to your neighbour to find a resolution. Tenants, you can also contact your landlord to discuss the situation
